Welcome!

As a proud survivor of 4 heart surgeries throughout 21 years (My first open heart surgery in 1988 and my most recent open heart surgery just over a year ago on September 9, 2008), I understand the importance of Heart research. I can say from a first hand account that through extensive research and education funded by an organization like the American Heart Association, Cardiovascular knowledge and practices have advanced in leaps and bounds since 1988, but I can also say that the road to conquering Heart Disease from infancy to adult hood still remains an arduous path. Yet year after year, I have seen the great strides that Doctors and researchers have made in this field to make a life like mine possible. I know that you can help me make a difference in the lives of so many others who are born with or fall victim to this disease.

I ask that you join me and the American Heart Association at this year's Miami-Dade County Heart Walk!

Whether you are walking together with me at the Heart Walk at Tropical Park on October 3rd, or whether you make a generous contribution through me to the American Heart Association which will go into Heart research in our local community, I sincerely look forward to sharing this great experience with you.
